Recently, I have come in contact with several people that I used to hang out with in college. Several of these people were really good friends for years and we sadly last contact over the years. I was on the phone with C last night and we were talking about how it's funny how people remember you.
She and another friend remember this one night back during my Sophomore year (I think it was) in college. We had stayed up all night - no doubt a school night (tisk tisk). We were just up watching movies and talking and what not. We probably went on a Fryn' Pan run for coffee and pancakes at 3 in the morning too. Anyway, as the sun came up we kept hearing these annoying birds Caw-ing. So we opened the windows and started caw-ing out the windows. We thought it was hilarious at the time. And it still is funny to us. I am certain there were people who did NOT find it funny since we had opened the windows in a dorm room that actually faced another dorm. Dorks!
Another friend of mine was telling me that every time he hears a Sugar Ray song he thinks of me. Hahahaha! I think that is so funny because I had totally forgotten about our Sugar Ray days. There was one song in particular where we substituted the words "captain morgan" for the real words. I still don't know what the real words are. I might even have that old CD laying around here somewhere.
This other friend says he thinks of me when he has to straighten his hooded sweatshirt strings! Oh my gosh! Hooded sweatshirts!! If any of you knew me in college, you know that I always wore hooded sweatshirts! I think that started in high school when my parents bought me a hooded sweatshirt that had the Wilson brand on it. I know there is a picture floating around of me wearing that hooded sweatshirt over my fuscia show choir dress. I had massive hair and makeup and all the glittery jewelry on....and that dang hooded sweatshirt! hahaha! And some random tennis shoes. I was obviously a fashion diva! The sad thing is...I still have a bunch of hooded sweatshirts and wear them whenever I get the chance. DORK!! My niece was at Old Navy and saw some hoodies and she told her mom "aww....I bet Auntie Sarah would love that!" hahaha!
So, people remember me caw-ing with the birds listening to Sugar Ray while wearing hooded sweatshirts? What does that say about me???
An old roommate of mine actually was remembering this one night at karaoke. We had stayed until the bar closed. My bro ran karaoke, his friend owned the bar and my friend was a bartender there. We stayed after the cops came in and kicked everyone out because we wanted to stay there and sing Boyz II Men songs on karaoke! WHAT was I thinking? Boyz II Men on karaoke? That is just wrong...
