Preschool

We have had Katie on the waiting list for a local Christian preschool. This morning we got the call that there is an opening! WOO! She will be starting preschool either Friday this week or Monday next week. How exciting! She is so ready to go to school! We are excited! It happens to be directly across the road from Sonic...she loves Cherry Cream Slushes from Sonic. I suppose maybe once in a while we can grab a treat after school...

New position!

I received an offer on Friday for the position I had applied for and I accepted! I am excited about the challenges that lay ahead, but am nervous!! There are a lot of unknowns. But I am confident that I can do this job. My tentative start date for this new role is March 16. I need to remain flexible as they search for a replacement. I will be giving and receiving lots of training in the following weeks. It should be exciting!

I am sad to be leaving my current team. I have been on this team for just a few weeks shy of 5 years. I have met some wonderful people and become friends with many of these people. I just hope that I can share all of the knowledge that I have learned with the others on this team.

Kasey climbed over the gate this afternoon...ummm....yeah...guess he didn't want to be in that part of the house! It was a bit scary, but he appeared to be fine and there were no bruises or scratches or anything. He is a monkey I tell you!

update

I had an interview today for the position I applied for. It went very well and sounds very promising. Now, I sit and wait to hear back.

Curlies!

I promised my dad that I would post some pics of Kasey with his crazy curly hair after his bath...

My brother went to a John Mayer concert yesterday - I bet it was fantastic! I can't wait for a few details!

Katie is potty trained! WOO! She goes through the day with no accidents -well, one a week maybe. But it's the middle of the night where she still has problems. I am still calling it a success!!

I applied for a new job on Friday and should be hearing something tomorrow...I have mixed feelings about this. Part of me is looking forward to a new challenge - and this one is pretty big! I have all the technical skills to perform this job - no question - but I am a bit nervous about the customer facing aspect. I don't have a lot of experience dealing directly with the customer. And this is no small customer! This is one of the biggest companies in the world! But like Brian said, I can do anything I put my mind to. Another part of me is so happy where I am at with my current position. I have been on this team for 5 years! I have made friends that I don't want to lose. I have a great manager - definitely the best I have ever had and I know that future managers are going to pale in comparison. I love the fact that I am the person other members of the team come to for help. I have so much knowledge in my current role. But, maybe it is time to move on and give someon else that chance. I will definitely keep this blog updated on any updates.

I have found myself praying a lot recently. Not necessarily for things that impact me or my family, but there are so many people out there that need to be lifted up in prayer. And it is so wonderful to see positive things happening to individuals in need!! I know prayers are answered. While I might not fully understand "how" immeditaely, it's clear to see that when prayer is answered, it is powerful. And the great thing about prayer is that you can do it anytime, anywhere! I used to think that I had to spend a long time in prayer, but I am realizing that even a little prayer goes a long way.

Kasey is going to be 1 on Saturday! Yay!! I will post pictures of the big day!

Kevin Harvick won the Daytona 500...they should have waived the yellow flag on the last lap.

Brian has been working crazy shifts for the past couple of weeks and I feel like we haven't seen him. This is really making me realize that I need to make some friends in the area. I crave the adult converstaions and interaction. Sigh...those of you who I have programmed in my cell, be expecting lengthy conversations in the near future! :-)

Recently, I have come in contact with several people that I used to hang out with in college. Several of these people were really good friends for years and we sadly last contact over the years. I was on the phone with C last night and we were talking about how it's funny how people remember you.

She and another friend remember this one night back during my Sophomore year (I think it was) in college. We had stayed up all night - no doubt a school night (tisk tisk). We were just up watching movies and talking and what not. We probably went on a Fryn' Pan run for coffee and pancakes at 3 in the morning too. Anyway, as the sun came up we kept hearing these annoying birds Caw-ing. So we opened the windows and started caw-ing out the windows. We thought it was hilarious at the time. And it still is funny to us. I am certain there were people who did NOT find it funny since we had opened the windows in a dorm room that actually faced another dorm. Dorks!

Another friend of mine was telling me that every time he hears a Sugar Ray song he thinks of me. Hahahaha! I think that is so funny because I had totally forgotten about our Sugar Ray days. There was one song in particular where we substituted the words "captain morgan" for the real words. I still don't know what the real words are. I might even have that old CD laying around here somewhere.

This other friend says he thinks of me when he has to straighten his hooded sweatshirt strings! Oh my gosh! Hooded sweatshirts!! If any of you knew me in college, you know that I always wore hooded sweatshirts! I think that started in high school when my parents bought me a hooded sweatshirt that had the Wilson brand on it. I know there is a picture floating around of me wearing that hooded sweatshirt over my fuscia show choir dress. I had massive hair and makeup and all the glittery jewelry on....and that dang hooded sweatshirt! hahaha! And some random tennis shoes. I was obviously a fashion diva! The sad thing is...I still have a bunch of hooded sweatshirts and wear them whenever I get the chance. DORK!! My niece was at Old Navy and saw some hoodies and she told her mom "aww....I bet Auntie Sarah would love that!" hahaha!

So, people remember me caw-ing with the birds listening to Sugar Ray while wearing hooded sweatshirts? What does that say about me???

An old roommate of mine actually was remembering this one night at karaoke. We had stayed until the bar closed. My bro ran karaoke, his friend owned the bar and my friend was a bartender there. We stayed after the cops came in and kicked everyone out because we wanted to stay there and sing Boyz II Men songs on karaoke! WHAT was I thinking? Boyz II Men on karaoke? That is just wrong...
